Bold women who lead with compassion
More than one thousand attendees came together last week on Friday for the 17th Annual Women’s Leadership Conference, held by Bay Path College. Once again, the event celebrated bold women and focused on the message to “lead with compassion.” At some point in life, we have all likely been in the presence of and inspired by a bold, courageous woman and can connect to this mission—regardless of one’s gender or background. This annual event is the opportunity to further the pioneering spirit of the world’s brave, talented, and brilliant women.
As a woman-owned, local business, Johnson & Hill Staffing connects closely with the goal of Bay Path College’s annual event. This year, we were a proud Level One Sponsor, and we enthusiastically jumped right in to be fully involved. Like other sponsors and vendors, we staffed an exhibit table to speak with attendees about the value and benefits of utilizing our staffing services, whether as a client or as a candidate.
But even more exciting for us was the chance to lend our expertise to help staff the speed-coaching interview sessions. Participating in this way allowed us to interact with so many talented professionals who were hoping for some interview tips and guidance. Confidence is one of the first steps to a successful interview, and we hope to have helped inspire some of that in our interviewees!
And all event attendees were welcome to stop by our table for complimentary resume critiques. Thank you so much to everyone to whom we spoke, and we hope you now have all that you need to craft a brilliant document for your job search. And if you still need some help, please feel free to contact our office for further assistance!
In the midst of all our activities, we were also able to pause to take part in the other incredible resources that this event draws together into one building. Throughout the day, attendees had access to several ‘mini-talks’ for some quick, valuable tips on various topics. And of course, there were three heavy-hitting women who provided very memorable keynote speeches, all of which were lauded with a standing ovation! Sister Helen Prejean, author of Dead Man Walking; Majora Carter, an eco-entrepreneur whose vision and energy have truly changed lives; and Ashley Judd, world-renowned actress, amazed and inspired with their stories of triumph and compassion.
Thank you to everyone who attended the event and a very special thanks to the President of Bay Path College, Dr. Carol Leary, for once again allowing us to take such an active role in this life-changing event. We look forward to seeing everyone in 2013!
